High School Senior Portraits
This is such an exciting time in your life! Your upcoming High School Graduation is an important milestone. You've accomplished so much building the foundation for your future thus far. In the coming year you will continue to gear up for a whole new list of challenges and decisions about your future. It will take hard work and dedication but you've already proven you are up for the challenge.
Before you jump into all that heavy stuff though it's time to have some awesome and fun Senior Portraits taken. That's where I come in! This is the time to tell your story with portraits that capture your personality.
I enjoy shooting portraits in a style that will still look cool 20 years from now. My goal is to show you being you in a relaxed and fun way that also tells the story of who you are right now at this very moment. How do I do that? First I get to know you a bit by asking a few general questions during the interview. I'm interested in what makes you happy! So I'll ask you about your favorite pastimes, hobbies, sports, music, college or after high school plans, etc. We can discuss locations, clothing choices and any ideas you may have for your shoot. I'm open to all your ideas. We will also set up a date and time for your session.
On the day of your session:
My sessions are planned for up to 3 hours. You can do as many outfit changes as you want to squeeze in during the session. I prefer to start my sessions off with you wearing your most formal wear first.(Suits, Prom Dresses, etc,) Then we will move into your more casual wear. If you have band and sports uniforms you want to wear we will work those in accordingly depending on the number of locations we plan to shoot at. If you are a minor I ask for an adult to tag along. They can assist you with hair, makeup and outfit changes as needed during your session. If you are over 18 and want to bring a friend along to assist you with those tasks that would be fine too.
Do I use Formal Posing?
This is a question I get asked frequently! I live with the adage that all photographs are a lie! What do I mean by that? There are ways for me to have you stand or sit for example that will help you look your best. So I may ask you to stand or move a bit during your session to tweak your body shape in ways that are flattering to you. My goal is to always have you looking relaxed and comfortable in all your images. I also enjoy making people laugh and sharing in some fun during the shoot so I'll be doing that as well. Life is too short to be serious all the time right?! My job is to have you looking your best. So there's no reason to be nervous about my casual posing styles!
